\nAs a Senior Manufacturing Engineer (CNC Machining), you ll play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of manufacturing combining the precision of CNC machining with the innovation of additive manufacturing to produce high-value metal parts for aerospace, defense, and advanced industries.
\nAbout the Role\n
You ll develop, implement, and optimize CNC programs for complex 3D-printed and traditionally machined parts. Working with state-of-the-art DMG Mori and Haas multi-axis machines, you ll collaborate closely with engineers and machinists to build machining standards and best practices that support Freeform s high-volume, vertically integrated production environment.
\nThis position is ideal for an engineer who thrives on hands-on problem solving, process optimization, and pushing the limits of modern CNC technology.
\nWhat You ll Do\n

- Develop, implement, and optimize CNC programs for precision metal components and 3D-printed parts \n
- Program and refine machining operations on DMG Mori and Haas 5-axis machines \n
- Translate CAD models and GD&T drawings into efficient machining strategies \n
- Select and optimize cutting tools, feeds, and speeds for maximum precision and throughput \n
- Troubleshoot machining challenges and collaborate with machinists to improve results \n
- Maintain CNC program libraries, documentation, and standardized workflows \n
- Implement process improvements to reduce cycle times and boost machine utilization \n
- Provide hands-on technical support and training on the production floor \n
- Ensure compliance with quality control standards, inspection processes, and safety guidelines \n
What You Bring\n
- \n
- Bachelor s degree in an engineering discipline \n
- 5 years of 5-axis CNC programming and machining experience \n
- Expertise with Mastercam and DMG Mori 5-axis machines \n
- Proven experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, or Inconel \n
- Strong problem-solving mindset and collaborative approach \n
Nice to Have:

- NTMA machinist certification or equivalent training \n
- Familiarity with Siemens controls and metal 3D printed part post-processing \n
- Experience machining castings or forgings \n
- Knowledge of CMMs, micrometers, and thread gauges \n
- Ability to operate shop tools, cranes, and forklifts \n
- Willingness to work overtime when required \n

Our 35,000 sq. ft. facility in Hawthorne, CA houses R&D, production, and collaboration spaces in the heart of Los Angeles vibrant tech and manufacturing corridor with easy access to the 405, 105, and 110 freeways.
\nCompensation\n
$110,000 $200,000/year, depending on experience, education, and demonstrated expertise.
Exceptional candidates with advanced programming and process engineering experience will be considered at the upper end of the range.
