Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work directly with individuals, particularly children with autism, to implement behavior intervention plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles. Your primary focus will be to support clients in achieving their goals while collecting data to monitor progress and ensure effective treatment.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Provide direct support to clients, including those with autism and other developmental disabilities, in various settings such as home, school, or community environments.
- Collect and record data on client behaviors and progress toward goals.
- Assist in conducting patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding client confidentiality.
- Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities related to behavioral health and special education practices.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, particularly Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
- Familiarity with ABA terminology, medical records, and documentation practices.
- Strong data collection skills and the ability to analyze behavioral data effectively.
- Understanding of patient care principles and the ability to conduct intake assessments.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with clients, families, and team members.
