What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre/Post Op RN position at Freedom Vision Surgery Center?
About the Role
Join our dedicated ophthalmology team at Freedom Vision, where compassionate care and clinical excellence help patients see the world more clearly every day! We’re seeking a caring and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional pre- and post-operative care to our surgical patients.
As part of our close-knit surgical team, you’ll support patients through every stage of their eye surgery experience — from education and preparation to recovery and follow-up — all while ensuring comfort, safety, and confidence.
What You’ll Do
- Assess patients’ health status and prepare them for ophthalmic surgery.
- Educate patients on procedures, anesthesia, and post-op care.
- Assist with IV starts, medications, and pre-op preparations.
- Monitor patients in recovery and manage pain or complications.
- Provide detailed discharge instructions and follow-up guidance.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and clinical staff.
What We’re Looking For
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required).
- Previous experience in ophthalmology, PREOP or PACU settings preferred.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Compassionate and patient-focused attitude.
