Job Overview
Freedom Township is seeking applicants for a full-time Road Worker. The applicant will be skilled in operation of equipment and trucks and to assist with the maintenance of Township roads. Perform road maintenance duties; snow and ice management; help maintain the park; maintain and repair buildings; equipment maintenance and any other duties as assigned. Physical requirements include lifting more than fifty (50) pounds frequently; climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching, pulling, lifting. Minimum qualifications a high school graduate must possess a valid Ohio Drivers License; at minimum a Class B CDL. Pay based upon experience and qualifications. Responsibilities
- Operate machinery including loaders, backhoes, mini excavator, dump trucks, and trucks to move materials and prepare sites.
- Assist with paving activities, ensuring smooth and accurate application of asphalt or concrete surfaces.
- Landscaping skills, such as mowing lawn, weed whipping, etc.; cemetery maintenance.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in site cleanup and material management to keep the work area organized and safe for all team members.
- Collaborate with supervisors to follow project plans, adhere to safety standards, and meet project deadlines efficiently.
Requirements
- Experience operating equipment such as loaders, backhoes, mini excavators, dump trucks.
- Strong knowledge of construction site safety procedures and protocols.
- Experience with paving processes and asphalt or concrete application is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with site preparation, grading, excavation, and material handling.
- Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
