What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Peer Support Specialist position at Freedom To Recover Counseling and Treatment Center?
Responsibilities:
- Provide peer support and mentorship to individuals with SUD and behavioral health challenges
- Assist individuals in developing and achieving their personal recovery goals
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Facilitate support groups and educational sessions for individuals and their families
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to promote positive change and self-advocacy
- Assist individuals in navigating the behavioral health system/recovery community and accessing community resources
- Provide crisis intervention and support during times of heightened distress
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of all interactions and services provided
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Peer Specialist
- Experience working in the field with clients who have a subastance abuse disorder and are in early recovery
- Valid Drivers Liceense
-Relaiable Transpatation
- Knowledge of Peer Support principles and practices
- Familiarity with crisis management techniques and intervention strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish rapport and build trusting relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Understanding of addiction counseling and mental health counseling principles
- Ability to effectively navigate and advocate within the company's weekly Census Meeting
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
