Job Summary:
Responsible for crisis operations, including crisis management, policies and procedures, and the overall quality of care for the client. Manages the crisis intervention procedure and assists clinical, medical, nursing, behavioral, transportation, housekeeping and facilities operations and management teams. Works closely with the CEO and leadership team to report status and updates on operations and clients requiring immediate or constant attention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing crisis situations including leading efforts with staff to prevent clients from leaving AMA. This includes making contact and coordinating all active Releases of Information (ROI).
- Provides training and education services for staff members in Crisis Management.
- Responsible for participating in the general daily schedule, which allows for treatment team staffing, in-service meetings, resident meetings, physical duties, curfew, and personal recovery program.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate documentation of clients on a daily basis including conversations, behaviors, phone calls, etc.
- Responsible for direct management of crisis intervention methods for patient retention and successful outcomes.
- Manages and oversees individuals who need crisis services, provides updates to clinical, medical and providers for treatment plans and assists in determination of individualized or additional care.
- Responsible for orientation of all new patients
- Assists in the coordination of patient and facility searches as well as other custody & control areas including but not limited to urine drug testing.
- Responsible for contacting their supervisor immediately following any unusual occurrences (i.e., police, ambulance, inspectors, and/or public officials.)
- Contact the designated administrative/clinical personnel immediately following any unusual circumstances (i.e. AMA, relapses, positive drug tests, etc.)
- Participate in the treatment & leadership team meetings
- Interface with families, treatment team members and case management

- Manages the crisis intervention procedure and assists clinical, medical, behavioral, transportation, nursing, housekeeping and facilities operations and management teams.

Education, Experience, Skills, & Abilities:

- High school diploma required. Associate degree or higher preferred.
- Must possess an understanding of the nature of addiction recovery and clinical intervention which leads to greatest outcomes and creates conditions for highest probability of sustained recovery
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, family members, and other members of staff.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in drug and alcohol treatment
- Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listen and receive clarification; respond well to questions; demonstrate group presentation skills; and participate in meetings.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of EMR systems preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, use hands and fingers, talk or hear, and smell continually. Ability to stand, walk and reach frequently. Ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch occasionally.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
- Close vision required to see computer monitors, read documents, and operate copy and fax machine. Distance vision is required to drive an automobile, if driving is a requirement of the job.
- Moderate noise levels as found in a business office with computer printers, households with TVs and dishwashers, and driving light traffic.
