The Armorer is responsible for maintaining, cleaning, diagnosing, and conducting basic repairs on both customer and store-owned firearms. This position supports the overall function and safety of the range by ensuring all firearms, including rental inventory, are in proper working condition. The role also involves managing the procurement of rental firearms, sourcing repair parts, coordinating with outside gunsmiths for advanced repairs, and maintaining accurate inventory records, including the gunsmithing bound book.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean, inspect, diagnose, and perform basic repairs on customer firearms and store-owned/rental firearms.
Ensure all firearms are safe, functional, and meet proper standards before returning to service.
Assist in the acquisition of rental firearms by coordinating with manufacturers and suppliers.
Source, order, and track repair parts as needed.
Coordinate with local gunsmiths for advanced or specialized repairs beyond in-house capabilities.
Maintain accurate records, including gunsmithing logs and the bound book, in compliance with ATF regulations.
Track and manage inventory of rental firearms, including condition reports and service intervals.
Work closely with the range and retail teams to ensure firearms are available and operational for customers.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local firearm regulations as well as company policies.
Qualifications:Strong knowledge of firearms, their function, maintenance, and repair procedures.
Prior experience in firearm cleaning, diagnostics, and basic repair preferred (certifications a plus).
Ability to source parts and communicate effectively with manufacturers and vendors.
Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in documentation and safety protocols.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to pass all required background checks and legally handle firearms.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to safely lift and move firearms, tools, and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
Ability to work in a range environment, including exposure to cleaning chemicals and range conditions.
