The Material Handler/Forklift Operator is a key team member who will be responsible for utilizing their skills and training to accomplish the assigned tasks in a timely manner while meeting the standards set forth in safety, quality, and productivity.
What You'll Do:
- Deliver small and large parts to production areas in a timely manner to ensure that production standards are maintained.
- Load and unload small and large parts on the delivery truck in a safe and efficient manner.
- Review and inspect parts and orders when received.
- Organize and maintain proper storage of parts and materials.
- Assist in physical inventory counts as needed.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area.
- Regularly inspect and perform preventive maintenance on material handling equipment.
- Report issues to maintenance as needed.
- Coursework beyond a high school diploma preferred.
- Previous experience with forklift and material handling practices.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and logical thinking.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Follow and ensure compliance with MIOSHA safety regulations as well as all company policies and procedures.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
