Job Overview
Assists with the day-to-day operations of Freedom House Outpatient Services, working closely with the Clinical Director to develop, implement, and maintain outpatient programming, specifically ensuring an appropriate Intake Process, and overseeing billing, including Medicaid Billing and Medicaid Compliance for all outpatient services.
Monitors Client billing including establishing funding source, verifying Medicaid coverage for clients in treatment as appropriate, monitoring treatment and clinical authorizations/re-authorizations, updating client records to reflect funding source changes, enrollment and continued contracting with Medicaid/MCOs, Liaison for Medicaid/MCO/State and County audits onsite and virtual.
Duties
1. Ensures that all treatment is properly authorized to ensure successful billing.
2. Works with Clinical Director/Clinical Supervisor to ensure documentation is completed by clinical staff in a timely manner to ensure billing; provides feedback to the Clinical Supervisor regarding staff compliance in NJSAMS and Zoobook EHR systems
3. Assists in the training and orientation of outpatient staff, including Intake Staff in relation to Zoobook and NJSAMS, to ensure consistency of documentation processes across programs.
4. Provides training to staff as needed in relation to establishing funding sources, securing authorizations, navigating Medicaid MCOs and Clearing House (Availity), and documenting treatment to ensure billing compliance.
Experience
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Clinical experience; CACD/LCADC preferred
- Prior experience with Medicaid Billing required
- Computer Literate, typing at least 35 wpm
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (specifically Word, Excel, Outlook)
- General knowledge of non-profit operations a plus
