About the Role

We are currently seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our clinical team on the Day Shift (6:45 AM - 7:00 PM), working a 2/3 block schedule. Day shift link

We are currently seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our clinical team on the Night Shift (6:45 PM - 7:00 AM), working a 2/3 block schedule. Night shift link

Responsibilities

• A Registered Nurse (RN) at Freedom Behavioral Lake Charles provides comprehensive nursing care to patients with mental and behavioral health conditions while ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.
• In this role, the RN conducts patient assessments, develops and implements individualized care plans, administers medications, and monitors patient progress.
• They observe and document changes in behavior and mental status, respond to crises, and utilize de-escalation techniques when needed.
• The RN collaborates with physicians, therapists, and other team members to support treatment goals, while also educating patients and families on care and coping strategies.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and compassion are essential to deliver safe, effective psychiatric care.

Qualifications

• Education: A minimum of an associate degree in nursing.
• License: Licensed as a RN to practice in the state.
• Experience: One year of RN experience is preferred; experience performing duties in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Required Skills

• Strong clinical judgment.
• Effective communication skills.
• Compassionate patient care.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in a psychiatric setting.
• Knowledge of mental health conditions and treatments.
