What are the responsibilities and job description for the Baler position at Freedom Graphics?
Freedom, a national Direct Mail Company, is one of the largest, independently owned, privately held, direct mail marketing providers in the United States. Why Freedom? Because we are a leader in the direct mail space, investing in technology and resources to facilitate innovative ideas, and we’re looking to add a Baler to our 3rd shift team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for running a baler machine that compresses and binds cardboard. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and a reliable individual that is able to work at a steady pace to meet the schedule of production.
- Run baler machine to compress and bind cardboard
- Maintain the work area, keep equipment in a clean and orderly condition, and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Break down cardboard for recycling.
- Open chamber doors and remove bales.
- Set up, operate, and perform basic adjustments to the equipment per the individual job requirements, operating characteristics, and capabilities of the equipment.
- Collect cardboard/ empty boxes from production floor
- Maintain production floor clean and free or debris.
- All other duties assigned by shift supervisor or leads.
Qualifications
- Required to stand for long periods of time.
- May involve some repetitive motions - bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and part containers.
- Must be able to frequently lift 50 lbs.
- Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity, and cold.
- Must have ability to read and write instructions.
- Overtime is required based on business needs and may become mandatory and weekends could be necessary.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
