Fleet Runner / Vehicle Operations Assistant (Part-Time)
About the Role
We're looking for a dependable, organized person to join our on-call operations team supporting a growing vehicle rental business. Initially, work will be provided on an AS-NEEDED BASIS depending on reservations, with opportunities for additional hours as the fleet expands. This is a flexible part-time position that's ideal for someone who enjoys driving, working independently, and keeping vehicles clean and guest-ready.
Hours vary based on reservations, with more work available as the business continues to grow.
Responsibilities
- Deliver vehicles to guests
- Pick up vehicles at the end of rentals
- Transport vehicles between locations
- Wash and vacuum vehicles
- Refuel vehicles when needed
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections
- Take timestamped photos before and after rentals
- Coordinate oil changes, tire repairs, and routine maintenance
- Report any vehicle damage or maintenance concerns
- Ensure every vehicle is clean, fueled, and ready for the next guest
Ideal Candidate
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Comfortable driving newer vehicles
- Dependable and punctual
- Good communication skills
- Able to work independently
- Attention to detail
- Comfortable using a smartphone to take photos and communicate
Schedule
- Flexible, on-call scheduling based on reservations
- No guaranteed weekly hours initially
- Most assignments occur around guest pickup and return times
- Nights and weekends are the busiest periods
- Opportunity for more consistent hours as the fleet grows
