Fitness Equipment Technician

Freedom Fitness Equipment is one of the largest commercial fitness equipment dealers in the Carolinas. We install, service, repair, and maintain fitness equipment for commercial gyms, apartment communities, schools, universities, corporate wellness centers, fire departments, police departments, and gyms.

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving mechanical problems, and providing outstanding customer service. Every day is different—you'll work on everything from treadmills and ellipticals to strength equipment and large commercial gym installations.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose and repair commercial fitness equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance on cardio and strength equipment
• Assemble and install fitness equipment
• Replace belts, decks, bearings, cables, upholstery, electronics, motors, rollers, and other components
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
• Load, unload, and transport equipment safely
• Document completed work using our service software
• Communicate professionally with customers on-site
• Maintain an organized service vehicle and tools

What We're Looking For

• Mechanical aptitude is required
• Experience repairing fitness equipment, medical equipment, automotive, HVAC, industrial equipment, or other electromechanical equipment is preferred
• Ability to diagnose problems rather than simply replace parts
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable using smartphones and tablets for work orders
• Able to work independently while managing your daily route
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Able to pass a background check
• Ability to lift 100 pounds with assistance and move heavy equipment safely
• Comfortable using hand tools and power tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Electrical troubleshooting experience
• Preventative maintenance experience

Schedule

• Monday–Friday during day
• Full-time (40 hours)
• Local travel throughout the Charlotte region with occasional overnight travel for larger commercial projects

Pay: From $22.50 per hour
