Fence Installation Foreman – Performance / Piece-Rate Pay

Freedom Fence is looking for an experienced Fence Installation Foreman who wants the opportunity to earn based on production, efficiency, and leadership rather than simply getting paid by the hour.

Get Paid Like an Owner

This is not a traditional hourly foreman position.

Each fence project is assigned a predetermined labor budget. As the foreman, you take responsibility for managing that labor budget and completing the project successfully.

Freedom Fence handles payroll for all employees. The wages and applicable employer labor costs for the laborer(s) assigned to your crew are charged against the project's labor budget.

After successful completion of the job, the remaining amount in the labor budget determines your piece-rate compensation for that project, subject to applicable wage and overtime laws.

That means your earning potential is directly connected to your ability to:

What You'll Do

As a Fence Installation Foreman, you will be responsible for the field installation of your assigned projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead, train, and manage fence installers and laborers
• Review project scope, measurements, layouts, and specifications
• Plan the crew and labor needed to efficiently complete each project
• Manage the project's assigned labor budget
• Lay out fence lines, gates, posts, and elevations accurately
• Install residential and commercial fencing
• Operate post drivers, augers, skid steers, and other construction equipment
• Safely drive company trucks and tow trailers
• Coordinate materials, tools, and equipment needed for each project
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
• Communicate professionally with customers while on site
• Handle normal field questions and customer contacts
• Identify problems early and communicate issues that could affect scope, cost, or schedule
• Protect company vehicles, tools, equipment, and materials
• Inspect completed work for quality
• Complete punch-list or correction items when necessary
• Leave every project ready for final customer acceptance

Experience with chain link, cedar/wood, vinyl, ornamental, agricultural, and commercial fencing is highly desirable.

Compensation – Your Performance Matters

This position uses a piece-rate / production-based compensation system.

Each project has a defined labor budget. Crew labor costs are deducted from that project's labor budget, and the remaining amount is used to determine the foreman's piece-rate earnings upon successful completion.

Freedom Fence handles employee payroll, required payroll deductions, employer obligations, and any adjustments necessary to comply with applicable wage-and-hour laws.

There is significant earning potential for an experienced foreman who can consistently produce high-quality work efficiently.

We don't believe an exceptional foreman who can safely complete a quality project in less time should automatically earn less simply because they worked fewer hours.

Requirements

• Fence installation or comparable construction experience
• Experience leading or managing a crew preferred
• Valid driver's license
• Driving record acceptable for company vehicle use
• Ability to safely drive trucks and tow trailers
• Ability to safely operate construction equipment and power tools
• Ability to read measurements, layouts, and project plans
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Ability to perform physically demanding construction work
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Reliable attendance
• Commitment to workplace and job-site safety
• High standards for workmanship
