Duties
- Perform safety checks via DVIR of brakes, steering column, lights and mirrors prior to each leg of journey to ensure road readiness
- Follow and maintain loading protocols, using chains and binders to secure cargo and re-checking their stability throughout trips
- Inspect trailers before and after loading, paying attention to status of air lines and jack positions and adjusting them as necessary
- Visit weigh stations before and after loading to ensure that loads meet state safety regulations, making alterations to loads when required by law
- Contribute to company data by honestly recording times of delivery and hours worked
- Assist in unloading cargo when delivery sites are understaffed, maintaining product quality throughout conveyance
- Adhere to traffic safety regulations at all times, exercise caution in treacherous circumstances and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisors and highway authorities
- When using boxes to haul earth make sure they are clean and free of all material before switching to another material. Make sure they are clean at the end of every shift.
- You must know how to or willing to learn how to operate, load, unload, and properly secure different types of equipment.
- You must be willing to learn all the trucks that Freedom Fabrication owns. This way you can cover another position if needed.
- All drivers are willing to step up and help with other job duties from the crews if needed. To include but not limited to: Operating equipment, Raking, Shoveling, Picking up jobsites, Loading job trailers, ETC.
- You must maintain professionalism on and off the clock. YOU ARE A PROFFESIONAL DRIVER! Your actions outside of work affect your work.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on materials driving within regional settings.
- Hands-on experience operating various types of trucks such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks.
- Familiarity with FMCSA regulations regarding hours of service, vehicle maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Skilled in manual transmission operation and truck loading/unloading procedures involving freight handling equipment like forklifts.
- Delivery driver experience involving route planning, customer interaction, and timely deliveries across diverse regions.
- Ability to navigate using GPS navigation systems effectively while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) standards for safety and compliance.

Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
