What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2026 Camp Invention-Interns position at Freedom Elementary?
Camp Invention Intern
- Report to: Camp Invention Director
- Minimum Qualifications: 14 years of age or older
A minimum of 2 and a maximum of 10 interns (depending on enrollment numbers) will be hired. Interns must be enthusiastic about the camp, flexible, and able to work with children of varying ages (completed pre-K - 5th grade) in a hands-on science and math, creative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Complete online training
- Stay with the assigned group of students or with an assigned teacher
- Keep daily attendance
- Move with students from group to group or assist the teacher in one module all day
- Interact with students and assist with curriculum activities
- Work with the Director and Instructors to maintain order
- Assist with lunch and eat with the children if deemed necessary by the director
- Attend staff meetings before and during the program
- Maintain an orderly, caring environment with supervision during all activities, including bathroom breaks, snack time, and recess.
- Assist with student arrival and departure times
- Assist with setup and teardown of camp
- Complete a staff evaluation
- Camp Dates: June 8-11, 2026, 8:30 - 4:30
