Position Summary
The Men’s Recovery Home Director is a spiritually mature, servant-hearted leader responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a Christian residential recovery home for men. This role cultivates a safe, structured, and Christ-centered environment—a living laboratory of faith—where residents are supported in overcoming addiction, deepening their relationship with Jesus Christ, and transitioning toward healthy, independent living.
The Director models Christ-like leadership and recovery principles, balances accountability with grace, and ensures the home operates with integrity, order, and compassion.
Key Responsibilities
1. Spiritual Leadership & Discipleship
- Model a consistent Christian walk and servant leadership rooted in biblical values.
- Facilitate or lead house devotionals, prayer times, and/or Bible studies.
- Provide peer mentoring and spiritual encouragement to residents throughout their recovery journey.
- Encourage and support regular church attendance and engagement with a local faith community.
2. Residential Operations & Program Oversight
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the home, including safety, cleanliness, maintenance, and security.
- Manage resident intake, orientation, ongoing participation, and discharge processes.
- Enforce house rules and policies with clarity, consistency, and grace.
- Supervise resident chores, schedules, and conduct routine room inspections.
- Maintain accurate administrative records related to residents and house operations.
3. Safety, Accountability & Crisis Response
- Conduct random urine drug screens (UAs) and breathalyzer testing (BAC) in accordance with house policy.
- Monitor resident compliance with recovery plans, employment requirements, and program expectations.
- Respond to crises, relapses, or emergencies calmly and appropriately, including evenings or weekends as needed.
- Maintain a drug- and alcohol-free environment at all times.
4. Community, Family & Partner Engagement
- Coordinate with churches, volunteers, mentors, and community partners.
- Communicate with residents’ families when appropriate and permitted.
- Assist with or coordinate transportation for residents to appointments, meetings, or work obligations when necessary.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Christian Faith: A personal and demonstrated commitment to Jesus Christ, biblical values, and a lifestyle of integrity.
- Recovery Experience:
- If in recovery, a minimum of 1–3 years of sustained sobriety (documented).
- Lived recovery experience is strongly valued.
- Leadership Experience: Prior experience in ministry, recovery housing, counseling, case management, or residential oversight preferred.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to lead with empathy, firmness, and discretion
- Basic administrative and organizational skills
- Background Requirements: Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
- Transportation: Valid driver’s license required.
