What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Porter position at Freedom Buick GMC?
The Sales Porter is responsible for maintaining an organized, clean, and efficient vehicle lot while providing support to the Sales Department. This position plays an important role in helping the sales staff stay focused on customers and sales by ensuring vehicles are where they need to be and readily available for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Park and organize vehicles throughout the dealership lot to maintain an orderly and professional appearance.
- Move vehicles as needed for customers, sales staff, service, detailing, deliveries, and lot organization.
- Ensure vehicles are parked in the appropriate areas and positioned for easy access and visibility.
- Maintain lot organization and routinely check that vehicles are in their designated locations.
- Assist with customer vehicle demonstrations and test drives by bringing vehicles to the appropriate location and ensuring they are ready for the sales staff.
- Shuttle vehicles between the dealership, service department, detail area, fuel stations, storage locations, and other designated areas.
- Help maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the dealership lot.
- Assist sales staff with locating and retrieving vehicles quickly so they can spend more time with customers.
- Help keep newly arrived inventory properly parked, organized, and ready for merchandising and sale.
- Assist with vehicle deliveries and customer vehicle pickups when needed.
- Monitor vehicle keys and help ensure vehicles are returned to their proper locations after use.
- Communicate with Sales, Service, Detail, and Management to coordinate vehicle movement and department needs.
- Assist with other dealership tasks as assigned by management.
Supporting Sales Efficiency
A primary goal of the Sales Porter is to make the Sales Department more efficient. By keeping vehicles organized, readily accessible, and properly positioned, the Porter allows sales staff to spend less time looking for or moving vehicles and more time assisting customers.
The Sales Porter should be proactive, dependable, and willing to anticipate what the Sales Department needs before being asked.
