What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Technician position at Freedom Boat Club?
Position Overview:
The Process Technician works with the Manufacturing Engineering team to support active production and new product introduction. They are responsible for creating work instructions, performing time studies, and helping to design fixtures. Good computer skills are a must for this position. The technician is also responsible for gathering/analyzing data and generating/leading continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Functions:
- Create work instructions in Excel and train assembly areas on new processes
- Collect and analyze data to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform time studies, document results in Excel, update labor standards, and improve line balancing
- Assist with the design & implementation of fixtures and jigs to improve efficiency and productivity within the production process
- Participate in new product activities including leading pilot and PV builds in production
- Create reports and track open issues for new product builds
- Lead, facilitate, and support Kaizen and other lean six sigma projects
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality to resolve production issues
- Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to reduce/eliminate issues
- Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
- Must be able to use hand tools and have ability to assemble fixtures and other equipment
- Understanding of and experience with the utilization of LSS and problem-solving tools
- Must possess strong analytical skills
- Able to work independently with little supervision
- Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all functional areas in the facility
- Excellent employee relations skills for all interactions
- Self-starter and detail oriented preferred
- Must be willing and able to work OT on Fridays when new product activities require it
- High school diploma or GED required. LSS Yellow or Green Belt preferred
The anticipated pay range for this position is $20 - $28, hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently standing and lifting heavy objects weighing 30 pounds. The employee is constantly walking, pushing/pulling, reaching, and climbing stairs. The employee is occasionally squatting, kneeling, and using fine hand movements such as tightening screws, bolts, and securing pins. Specific vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Environmental demands include working both indoors and outdoors and is seasonally exposed to extreme temperatures.
