Freedom Boat Club, the nation’s leading private boat club, is seeking dependable, service-oriented individuals to join our Dock Staff team in Lewes. This seasonal, member-facing role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, interacting with members, and being part of a safety-focused team in an outdoor, waterfront environment.
Schedule Requirements
- Seasonal position: May through November
- Minimum of 3 shifts per week
- Weekend and holiday availability required
- Schedule may vary based on weather and member demand
Key Responsibilities
Previous boating experience is a plus, but not required. Successful Dock Staff demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, adaptability, and a strong commitment to safety.
Responsibilities include:
- Deliver outstanding member service by greeting members professionally and creating a positive dockside experience
- Support daily dock and fleet operations, including preparing boats for departure and assisting members boarding and disembarking
- Promote and uphold safety standards through pre- and post-departure safety and equipment checks
- Assist with navigation and local knowledge, becoming familiar with local waterways and destinations
- Maintain fleet cleanliness and appearance by cleaning and detailing boats and dock areas
- Contribute to a team-oriented culture by working collaboratively with fellow Dock Staff and supervisors
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license
- Ability to perform light maintenance tasks
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift 30 lbs, board vessels, secure lines, and perform cleaning tasks
- NASBLA Boater Safety Certification required (Certification will be provided for candidates if not already obtained)
