The Role: We are seeking a results-driven Business Development & Operations Manager to lead the growth of our services and ensure seamless project delivery. You will be the face of our studio, connecting with Producers, Directors, and Developers to fill our stage with innovative projects.
This is a unique role: you will drive the sales cycle—from initial inquiry to contract—while simultaneously acting as the operational bridge between the client and our technical stage team. Your focus will be on selling and overseeing our full-service pipeline, including performance capture, real-time Unreal Engine integration, and IMAX virtual camera services.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
● Market Execution: Identify and secure service-for-hire contracts within the Video Game,
Film, TV, and enterprise sectors.
● Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a robust CRM database of qualified leads,
leveraging your existing network to keep the stage consistently booked.
● Consultative Selling: Partner with our Technical Director to translate complex client
needs (stunts, facial capture, VCam) into accurate, competitive quotes.
Operational Oversight & Project Onboarding
● Seamless Handoff: Lead the transition from signed contract to production kickoff, briefing
the stage crew on creative goals, technical specs, and deliverables.
● Contract Administration: Manage the lifecycle of NDAs, Master Service Agreements
(MSAs), and Statements of Work (SOWs).
● Financial Stewardship: Oversee project profitability by tracking actual studio usage
against quotes and managing "change orders" when client scopes evolve mid-shoot.
Client Experience & Relationship Management
● Account executive: Serve as the primary point of contact for the full client lifecycle,
ensuring long-term retention and recurring business.
● On-Site relations: Act as the "Executive Producer" for clients on-site, ensuring their
experience in our Marina Del Rey facility—from the viewing loft to the VO booth—is
world-class.
● Industry Representation: Promote our capabilities at major trade shows (DICE Summit,
GDC, SIGGRAPH) and local networking events.
Qualifications:
● Experience: 5 years of Business Development or Production Management experience in VFX, Gaming, or Animation.
● Technical Literacy: A strong understanding of digital content creation pipelines (Motion Capture, Unreal Engine, MotionBuilder).
● Network: Numerous contacts and relations with Film/TV Producers, Game Developers/Publishers, and/or VFX Supervisors is highly desirable.
● Communication: Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to explain complex technical services to non-technical stakeholders.
● Agility: Comfortable balancing high-level sales meetings with the fast-paced, "hands-on" nature of a working mocap stage.
