About the Role:

The Lead Youth & Family Program Coordinator oversees Free Life Wellness Center's therapeutic After-School Program located in our Mesa office.

This position combines direct behavioral coaching, program leadership, curriculum development, family engagement, and team support to ensure every child receives high-quality, trauma-informed services.

While much of the position focuses on leading therapeutic groups, this role may also provide individual Behavior Coaching services on Fridays or as program needs require.

This position serves as the primary point person for the daily operations of the after-school program while collaborating closely with therapists, behavior coaches, case managers, schools, and families.

You Will:

• Oversee daily operations of the therapeutic after-school program while creating a safe, structured, and trauma-informed environment.
• Support, mentor, and model best practices for behavior coaches while ensuring program quality and safety.
• Facilitate psychoeducational groups and therapeutic activities that promote social-emotional learning, emotional regulation, communication, life skills, teamwork, and positive peer relationships.
• Provide individualized behavioral support and interventions as needed.
• Develop and implement engaging, evidence-based therapeutic curriculum, life skills lessons, and enrichment activities that align with treatment goals.
• Maintain ongoing communication with families, provide coaching and progress updates, participate in or facilitate Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings, and collaborate with therapists, schools, case managers, and community partners to support client success.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation, attendance, behavioral observations, and other required program records while monitoring client progress toward treatment goals.
• One-on-one Behavior Coaching on Fridays or as needed

Qualifications That Help You Shine

We’re open to a wide range of life paths and educational backgrounds, including:

Preferred qualifications include

• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Development, Family Studies, Counseling, Education, or related field or Associate's Degree with behavioral health experience
• OR
• High School Diploma with at least three years of behavioral health experience working with youth

Experience in any of the following is highly preferred:

• Behavioral Health
• Youth Programming
• Group Facilitation
• Behavior Coaching
• Child Development
• Trauma-Informed Care
• School-Based Services
• Leadership or Supervisory Experience

Also Required:

• Fingerprint clearance card
• Reliable transportation & valid driver’s license
• Clean driving record (39-month)
• Current auto insurance
• First Aid/CPR certification
• Negative TB test
• Must be 21 or older

Monday-Friday

11:00 AM – 8:00 PM but may vary as needed
