- Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer, including manual transmission trucks, across designated routes
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks when necessary
- Transport a variety of cargo, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized equipment
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery records in accordance with company policies
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery schedules, and any issues encountered on the road
- Adhere strictly to all federal, state, and local transportation laws and safety regulations
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL)
- Strong knowledge of manual transmission operation and handling various trailer types such as refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump truck, or freight roll-off trucks
- Skilled in load & unload procedures using forklifts or other material handling equipment
- Excellent route driving skills with a focus on efficiency and safety
- Ability to perform detailed vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Experience with freight delivery, including handling specialized cargo like refrigerated goods or hazardous materials (if applicable)
- Good communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers and clients during deliveries
