Position Summary
Remove excess metal, blemishes and/or burrs from product using a variety of hand tools and equipment according to the job traveler, blueprint, or part specific work instruction.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and comprehend job traveler instructions and follow established safety procedures.
- Keep accurate records of production quantities.
- Report defective parts and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
- Remove burrs or polish to a uniform finish using appropriate tools, being careful not to remove excess material.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Required Training & Experience
- Self-motivation skills and ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to use hand tools.
Preferred Skills
- Proven experience in deburring product.
- Good understanding of quality control principles.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
Visual Acuity
Near acuity and accommodation is required for reading blueprints, Inspection equipment and visual inspection of parts.
Working Conditions
The employee is subject to: High noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, breathing fumes, dust and mist. Skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids.
The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
