What are the responsibilities and job description for the Convenience Site Attendant (Part-Time) position at Frederick County Local Government?
- Operate the trash compactor in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Direct traffic flow at the convenience site and assist waste haulers to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Monitor refuse and recycling collection areas and enforce County regulations regarding proper waste disposal.
- Identify, discourage, and report illegal dumping and unauthorized use by out-of-County residents.
- Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of convenience site and grounds, including litter control and raking as required.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance of equipment and report repair needs.
- Cooperate with the public and provide courteous and professional customer service, including answering questions and providing assistance.
High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in manual labor, customer service, or related work is preferred. - Ability to follow specific instructions and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and variable shifts.
