This professional, technical position provides comprehensive software integration and support for numerous county public safety user agencies. These agencies are involved in initiatives on a Windows platform, web, client/server, and mobile environments. Supervision is received from the designated IIT Public Safety Team Lead, and the Public Safety/GIS Manager based on work plans and priorities approved by IIT and the affected agencies, leadership.
NOTE: The upper pay range reflects possible wage rates for internal County transfers and promotions, which are calculated per County policy. For external hires, offers are made at the base wage rate, with limited exception.

- Implement and administer hardware/software solutions
- Troubleshoot and maintain custom and COTS purchased software solutions
- Serve as a resource for application support for the county’s public safety applications.
- Work on-site with supported agencies to assess public safety software and hardware performance
- Work with system users and partner agencies to define new requirements by analyzing systems and business procedures
- Test and evaluate new software, technology, and processes
- Define and develop reports and data analysis to facilitate effective business decisions
- Maintain MSSQL databases including analyzing log files and troubleshooting performance issues
- Develop, implement, integrate, maintain, and support system conversion and migration plans
- As needed, operate a county vehicle to transport PC equipment and provide support at user locations
- Suggest, and if approved by management team, develop new configurations
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues that may arise that affect system performance
- Perform other related duties as required

- Project management experience in an IT environment
- Experience interviewing users and writing requirements descriptions
- Experience analyzing requirements, specifications, data, and programs; and designing a suitable solution
- Maintenance and back-end support of client/server applications and/or web-enabled applications
- Experience designing reporting and business intelligence solutions based on Microsoft technologies
- Possession of a valid automobile operator's license
- Ability to maintain County Authorized Driver privileges
- Ability to effectively work on multiple projects through study, design and implementation phases and to effectively manage multiple project assignments
- Ability to effectively organize work and work schedules, determine and establish priorities and complete assigned duties with minimal supervision
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, consultants, coworkers, government agencies, system users, and the general public
- Ability to communicate across various project teams
- Must be an organized, motivated self-starter with a willingness to learn new technologies and processes
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service including the ability to explain technical concepts to clients and ability to manage client expectations
- Strong and effective spoken and written (English) communication skills to include writing clear, concise, and comprehensive reports and documents
- Work experience servicing a mission critical software system that operates 24/7/365
- Work experience synchronizing, controlling, and documenting configurations for different application environments (LIVE, TEST, STAGING, and TRAINING)
- Work experience integrating software within a multi-agency or multi-organization operations environment
- Work experience working with Motorola P1 CAD, CentralSquare Inform RMS, Black Creek Sally Port JMS, and Panasonic Toughbook devices or similar systems
- Work experience with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, Intune, and MSSQL Server
- While working in this position, the employee is required to constantly sit, frequently walk and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
- While working in this position, the employee is required to constantly work indoors
- Ability to work occasional varied evening/weekend hours to accommodate customer initiatives, deadlines, and support requirements
