Position Summary:

The Accessibility Compliance Operations Specialist provides high-level administrative, operational, and logistical support to the Associate Vice President (AVP) for Title IX & Accessibility Compliance. This role enhances the efficiency of office operations by managing communications, interpreting requests, record-keeping, and project-related tasks. The Specialist serves as the primary contact for communication access services for employees and community members, ensuring timely and appropriate arrangements for ASL interpreting, captioning, and related accommodations.
The position requires exceptional attention to detail, the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible, and respectful campus environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following are the functions essential to performing this job:
1. Serve as the primary point of contact for scheduling ASL interpreting, CART/captioning, and other communication access services for employees, applicants, and community members.
2. Receive, track, and process incoming requests; confirm details with requestors; and secure services through external vendors or contractors.
3. Maintain accurate logs of requests, usage hours, service costs, and vendor invoices to support budgeting and compliance.
4. Provide comprehensive administrative support to the AVP, including meeting coordination, document preparation, and communication management.
5. Draft, edit, and format correspondence, reports, presentations, and policy-related documents.
6. Assist with office projects, data tracking, policy updates, and compliance initiatives as assigned.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications
1. High School Diploma or Equivalent.
2. Two years of administrative support experience, preferably in a higher-education, compliance, HR, or legal environment.
3. Experience working with confidential employee information.
4. Experience communicating with diverse populations with professionalism and discretion.

Desired Qualifications
1. Associate’s degree or higher.
2. Completion of a post-secondary Interpreter Preparation/Training program
3. National Certification recognized by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)
4. Familiarity with ADA communication access services (ASL, CART, captioning).
5. Experience supporting federal compliance, HR, or Title IX/ADA processes.
