Veterinarian

Freddie’s Place Animal Hospital Urgent Care is looking to add a full-time and/or part-time veterinarian! Freddie’s Place is a privately owned Hybrid Hospital in Vista, CA (north county San Diego, CA). We opened in January 2023 with the vision of providing gold standard care at a fair cost; we are financially ethical across the board, with a goal of ultimately helping animals and their pet parents. After witnessing the progressive take-over by corporate companies, massive price increases, and month long waitlists causing an overloading of Emergency hospitals, it became apparent that there was a need for thinking "outside the box". Therefore, we do things a little differently in an effort to step outside the box such as operating on "walk-in" basis for cases ranging from routine to more emergent. We're a modern hospital with a "family vet" feel. We strive to provide comfort for our customers and their pets, as well as create a supportive environment for employees to collaborate, learn, and practice individualized medicine. Our hospital team enjoys giving back to our local community through various avenues; most recently we had a float in the local holiday parade!

We have all the diagnostic/therapeutic toys too: Mindray ultrasound (x2); BovieDerm Cautery; Radiographs ( dental rads) w/ VetsChoice reads; Imagyst cytology; IH labs zoetis and antech ref labs; Duo Class IV laser; PRP; Endoscope; electro-acupuncture; 5 o2 cages; and we're currently overhauling an ambulance for "animal transport" and mobile care...we're always thinking outside the box and keeping the "red ball rolling".

About YOU:

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical medicine; including experience with routine and emergent surgery. You have good communication skills, understand your boundaries and have a willingness to discuss your needs to ensure our team continues to offer the best care anywhere.

Education and Experience:

- DVM, or equivalent, from an accredited university (Required)

- California Veterinary License (Required)

- Veterinary Experience of 3 years, minimum (preferred)

- DEA Certification

About the open positions:

- Full time Position (flexible 3-12hrs or 4-10hrs or combination achieving 35hrs/week)

-Option to pick up open shifts at additional/bonus pay

-Part-time/Relief (flexible 4-8 shifts/month)

- Open 7 days a week

- One location; goal to open a second location (ie--leadership opportunities)
