At Freddie Mac, our mission of Making Home Possible is what motivates us, and it’s at the core of everything we do. Since our charter in 1970, we have made home possible for more than 90 million families across the country. Join an organization where your work contributes to a greater purpose.

Position Overview:

At Freddie Mac, you’ll do important work that supports our mission to make home possible for millions of families. The Single-Family division is looking for a senior business communications partner to help leaders drive clarity, alignment, and engagement around division priorities. In this role, you will translate strategy into straightforward, actionable messages and executive-ready materials that support day-to-day decision-making, operating rhythms, and change adoption across the business.

Our Impact:

At Freddie Mac, we aim to build a positive impact on the housing finance system. We’re committed to helping:

  • Build the candidate’s understanding of business communications in a mission-driven, matrixed environment—including executive writing, leader readiness, and communications that support business performance and adoption.
  • Provide exposure to Single-Family priorities, products, and operating rhythms to develop credible, business-fluent communications that resonate with internal stakeholders.
  • Foster an inclusive environment that values partnership, curiosity, and continuous improvement—creating space to learn from leaders and peers while delivering high-quality work.
  • Encourage both tactical excellence and strategic judgment—balancing speed and accuracy while keeping communications aligned to business priorities and outcomes.

Your Impact:

This role helps Single-Family leaders communicate with purpose and precision—turning complex work into clear narratives, creating executive-ready materials, and keeping teams aligned to what matters most. You’ll support leadership visibility, strengthen internal alignment, and enable effective execution through consistent messages, timely updates, and practical communications support.

  • Partner with Single-Family leaders to shape messaging and materials that support division objectives, operating rhythms, and key decisions.
  • Draft and refine executive-ready communications (talking points, briefs, remarks, Q&A, presentations, and leader emails) tailored to specific audiences and moments.
  • Maintain divisional message frameworks and reusable content (key themes, FAQs, leader narratives) to ensure consistency and speed across priority initiatives.
  • Manage leader profile and speaker support (bios, headshots, introductions, and readiness materials) and coordinate prep for internal and external engagements as needed.
  • Support communications for business initiatives and change efforts—engaging employees and helping teams understand the “why,” “what,” and “what’s next,” and enabling adoption across the division.
  • Plan and deliver core internal communications for Single-Family (newsletters, leader updates, meeting recaps, intranet posts, and event communications) with clear calls to action.
  • Collaborate with marketing/omnichannel partners when division priorities require broader campaign support, ensuring executive content and timing align to business needs.
  • Work cross-functionally (strategy, product, sales, risk, operations) to gather inputs and produce concise, accurate content for multiple channels and formats.
  • Track effectiveness through practical measures (reach, engagement, leader feedback, and action completion) and use insights to improve clarity, cadence, and impact.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience supporting senior leaders with executive writing and internal/business communications in a complex organization.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging communications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with PowerPoint expertise
  • Demonstrated ability to consult with stakeholders, understand business context quickly, and deliver timely, executive-ready materials in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Financial services or highly regulated industry experience preferred.

Keys to Success in this Role:

  • Business-fluent communicator who can turn strategy, data, and complex topics into clear narratives and practical messages.
  • Trusted partner to senior leaders—able to influence with sound judgment, discretion, and a calm, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable navigating ambiguity while managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
