Fred’s Painting is seeking an experienced Journeyman Painter for residential projects that demand proper preparation, attention to detail, and clean, professional execution. This role is for painters who take pride in their work and understand that quality comes from process — not speed.
Responsibilities
- Interior and exterior residential painting
- Full surface preparation including sanding, caulking, masking, patching, and priming
- Spray application for walls, trim, doors, and cabinetry
- Cabinet painting and finishing (proper prep, priming, spraying, and protection)
- Clean, consistent finish work on detailed areas
- Maintain clean, organized job sites with proper surface protection
- Work professionally in occupied homes
- Follow scopes of work and company quality standards
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members
Requirements
- 5–10 years of professional painting experience
- Spray application experience (required)
- Cabinet painting experience (required)
- Strong knowledge of prep and finish systems
- Ability to deliver clean, detail-oriented results
- Own professional painting tools
- Reliable vehicle and transportation
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience with siding replacement
- Wood repair and replacement (trim, fascia, rot repair)
This Position Is Not
- Entry-level
- Production or “blow-and-go” painting
- Shortcut or speed-focused work
