Brief Description

  • Supervise and monitor of Material Damage Appraisers and DRP
  • Report and document variances and performance
  • Review suspicious losses and determine if further investigation is warranted.
  • Ensure compliance of all material damage claim settlements with DOI regulations.
  • Provide material damage training
  • Maintain a high degree of knowledge in the area of physical damage and attend necessary training programs to increase his/her knowledge.
  • Act as a technical resource in the area of material damage and estimating.
  • Handle situations arising from complaint calls from customers.
  • Act as a role model for all employees.
  • Review requests for authority timely and grant the appropriate authority to settle claims.
  • Respond to Department of Insurance inquiries.
  • Responsible for interviewing and selecting candidates for employment.
  • Complete performance evaluations as required by company policy for all employees under his/her direct supervision.
  • Make accurate decisions on whether or not to deny coverage.
  • Recommend appropriate direction on all open files through verbal instructions or written action plans placed in claims files.
  • Maintain high morale and production for the team.
  • Assist with other duties and /or projects as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Responsible for setting goal expectations with the team on weekly and monthly basis.
  • Prepare and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly team reports; including, but not limited proactive management of Desk Review report, pending inventory, cycle time and Key Performance Indicator metrics.
  • Monitor department’s adherence to claims handling guidelines and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor proper claim resolution including, but not limited to, review of employee work product, and review of repair vs. total loss decisions and advance charges management.
  • Follow and enforce all directives, policies, and procedures set by Fred Loya Insurance.
  • Participate in the recruitment, interviewing process, and selection of new adjusters.
  • Responsible for maintaining HR documentation for the department, completing weekly Census reports, and submitting to HR all appropriate change documentation.
  • Maintain team discipline and oversee individual corrective action.
  • Work with team to coordinate the reviewers' work schedules and leave requests to ensure proper coverage within the team in accordance with FLI procedures.
  • Responsible for training new hires and preparing training plans.
  • Relate all new or revised policies, procedures, and/or processes to team members to ensure they have the most up-to-date and current information.
  • Undertake regular performance reviews with team members in order to identify business and personal developmental needs.
  • Develop and deliver performance management plans and progressive discipline for any team member identified to be struggling with their workload.
  • Other duties as assigned by management or as needed.

Our claims office has an immediate opening for an Auto Field Appraiser. In this role the employee will be responsible for completing vehicle damage estimates.

Auto Appraiser ensures the estimates are accurate and in accordance with the terms of Loya Insurance’s physical damage standards and state regulations.

The Auto Appraiser works with the repair facilities to obtain a meaningful agreed price on repairs and estimated time of completion/delivery.
