The Bloom lab in the Basic Sciences Division and Computational Biology program has an opening for a Graduate Research Assistant in computational biology. The Graduate Research Assistant will write computer code to analyze viral deep sequencing data, and analyze the results.
Responsibilities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The hourly pay range for this position is from $21.30 to $48.09 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.

Responsibilities
- Write well organized computational pipelines to analyzing deep sequencing data.
- Analyze data to examine viral mutations both at the fixed and intrahost levels.
- Interpret data in the context of the broader scientific literature and knowledge.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Student should be currently enrolled in a Masters program in computer science or similar program
- At least one year of prior experience as a software engineer.
- Recent experience with snakemake and tools for analyzing viral deep sequencing data.
