Brief Description
Collision Apprentice / Quality Control
CARSTAR Fred Beans of Langhorne needs the right automotive minded individual looking to start a career. The position assists the Estimators, Parts Dept. and technicians throughout the day. Computer experience helpful. Willing to train the right individual.
The right person should have/be:
Mechanically inclined
Desire to learn in a fast-paced environment
Customer driven and outgoing personality
Able to thrive in a team environment
Primary areas of responsibility
Assist Estimators/CSR with drop off vehicles.
Windshield information and scans required based on estimate.
Sublets needed form Estimate noted on Lt Rr window w/scans.
Park vehicles in designated spots for repairs
QC vehicles at completion on front line
Review repairs based on estimate for correctness.
Inspect vehicle for cleanliness.
Review paint for imperfections to correct.
If available De-nib when necessary
Report all out of line conditions prior to correction to Estimator, Prod. Mgr.
Complete final inspection section off QC sheet, sign, and scan to file.
Compile QC reporting to GM on monthly basis noting corrective actions needed.
Vehicle cleaning as requested by Prod. Mgr., GM
Run through CAR Wash
Blow out & wipe down interior for body dust.
Remove any tape residue / overspray.
Remove all mapping markings from vehicle.
Additional items as necessary
Items that need to be done on intermittent basis on direction from GM(not inclusive list)
Delivery of vehicles to customers as necessary, parts pick up
Maintain a clear customer parking area
Assist with sublet vendors on vehicle location
Escort tow trucks on where to drop or pick up vehicles to reduce lot damage
Assist technicians with vehicle movement as needed
Daily maintenance for shop cleanliness with trash removal, common area organization, 5S equipment items returned to necessary area
