Frazier Industrial Company is seeking a motivated Steel Buyer to join our procurement team. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role supporting our steel purchasing operations. You'll work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment with real opportunity to grow your expertise in industrial steel procurement
The right candidate will play a critical role in keeping Frazier's production running smoothly by managing day-to-day steel sourcing needs.
This role is being created to provide current Purchasing Manager with dedicated support and expand the team's capacity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Learn and execute day-to-day steel sourcing requirements under Mike's guidance
- Analyze transmitted projects and chart demand against steel roll dates
- Prepare purchase orders based on Frazier's production demand
- Develop working knowledge of Frazier's supply chain, including vendor relationships and order fulfillment processes
- Support daily raw material requests at the shop level
- Assist team with additional procurement tasks and special projects as needed
- Build and maintain vendor relationships to support reliable, on-time material delivery
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Highly motivated with a strong sense of urgency and fast response time
- Thorough, detail-oriented, and organized
- Excellent communication and follow-through
Preferred
- Background in steel — ideally in a buying, procurement, or materials role
- 2–4 years of experience in steel purchasing, construction, or engineering
- Experience in a steel service center, construction firm, or industrial manufacturer
- Familiarity with mill roll dates, lead times, and steel market dynamics
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering preferred. Equivalent work experience in steel procurement will be considered.
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
