What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler, Shipping Yard position at Frazier Industrial Company?
Pay: $17.50 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. potential overtime options on Friday or Saturday
Frazier Industrial is seeking three Material Handler/Banders for our Shipping Yard. These positions are intended to be temporary assignments of approximately one month but may become permanent opportunities for high-performing individuals.
Position Summary
This is a hands-on outdoor position that works in the shipping yard and one is exposed to varying weather conditions. Employees in this role will assist with general yard organization, material movement, cleanup activities, and product banding. This position does not operate forklifts or other mobile equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform general yard cleanup and housekeeping.
- Run a forklift or sideloader.
- Prepare staging and storage areas for material relocation.
- Move steel angles, dunnage, and other materials throughout the yard.
- Safely transport components stacked on carts or frames to designated banding areas.
- Properly band products and frames according to established safety and quality procedures.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Basic math, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work safely, efficiently, and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of basic metalworking equipment preferred.
- Reliable attendance and ability to report to work on time.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Own steel or composite toed shoes and proper clothing to work outside
Physical Requirements
- Stand in a steady manner for a 10 hr shift.
- Frequently walk, reach, grasp, and handle materials.
- Occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lift and carry:
- Up to 10 lbs. occasionally
- Up to 50 lbs. frequently
- Up to 100 lbs. occasionally with assistance from a partner
- Must possess adequate close vision, distance vision, and depth perception to safely perform job duties.
