What are the responsibilities and job description for the Visitation Specialist position at Frazier& Griffin Visit Services?
The Visitation Specialist will work as a subcontractor to support safe, structured, and meaningful visitation between children in foster care and their biological parents or family members. This role is essential in promoting child safety, supporting reunification efforts, and maintaining family connections in accordance with court orders and agency policies.
This is 1099 Subcontracted position.
Essential Duties
- Supervise and facilitate foster care visitation in homes, agency settings, or community locations
- Transport children in DCYF custody to/from visitation locations
- Ensure compliance with court orders, case plans, and safety guidelines
- Monitor interactions to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of children
- Provide redirection and model appropriate parenting behaviors when needed
- Document visit observations clearly, objectively, and in a timely manner
- Communicate concerns and progress to foster care caseworkers and supervisors
- Transport children to and from visits as required
- Manage challenging behaviors, emotional situations, and conflicts using trauma-informed practices
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Have reliable transportation and a clean driving record
- Willing to use your own vehicle for transportation and carry state-approved auto insurance policy
- Experience working with children and families in foster care, child welfare, or social services preferred
- Have or be willing to obtain a business license
- CPR, first aid and blood-borne pathogens certification
- Understanding of child development, family dynamics, and trauma-informed care
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain calm, neutral, and supportive in emotionally charged situations
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
- Must pass a state background check
Education & Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED; AND One (1) year documented experience working with children/families in a paid position or unpaid/volunteer
- Associate's Degree in Human Services or related field or two years of completed coursework towards a bachelor's degree; AND Six (6) months of documented experience working with Children and Families
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field

The Visitation Specialist shall maintain a Business Automobile Policy on all vehicles used to transport clients with the following minimum limits: $1,000,000 per accident combined single limit. The Visitation Specialist shall name DCYF and Frazier & Griffin Visit Services as an additional insured.
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
