Position Title: Deli ClerkClassification Status: Non-ExemptWork Status: Part-time Reports To: Deli ManagerPosition SummaryThe Deli Clerk is responsible for preparing, packaging, and presenting deli products while providing exceptional customer service. This role ensures compliance with food safety standards, maintains product quality, and supports inventory management and receiving processes. The Deli Clerk works as part of a team to create a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues.Essential Job DutiesPrepare, cut, wrap, weigh, tare, price, and display deli department products in accordance with company standards.Take and fulfill sandwich and specialty orders accurately.Monitor product quality, freshness, and proper rotation; report any issues to management.Assist with receiving, unpacking, and stocking merchandise; verify that deliveries match vendor invoices.Price, display, store, or break down products following company policies and procedures.Maintain inventory accuracy and report low stock, spoilage, or damaged items to management.Handle spoiled or damaged products safely and according to company policy.Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safety policies, including proper use of equipment and cleaning chemicals.Provide friendly, courteous, and prompt service to all customers.Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment and food prep areas.Other Duties: This job description is not exhaustive and may be revised at any time.
