POSITION OVERVIEW
The Business Analyst serves as the analytical intelligence hub for the brand, transforming data from our central yacht database platform into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making. The Business Analyst will analyze market trends, competitive positioning, sales performance, and customer behavior to provide leadership with the intelligence they need to optimize pricing, inventory strategy, and business growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Market Analysis & Intelligence
- Conduct comprehensive market research on yacht sales trends, charter activity, pricing movements, and competitive dynamics specific to brand positioning
- Analyze data across multiple markets (U.S., Mediterranean, Caribbean, etc.) to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and threats
- Monitor competitor performance, market share, and strategic initiatives
- Evaluate macroeconomic factors and luxury market trends affecting the superyacht sector
- Provide brand-specific market intelligence that differentiates from broader industry analysis
Business Performance Analysis
- Analyze sales performance, lead conversion, and pipeline metrics for the brand
- Evaluate marketing campaign effectiveness and ROI
- Assess brand market penetration and positioning relative to competitors
- Identify performance gaps and opportunities for growth
- Support brand leadership in pricing strategy, inventory positioning, and business forecasting
Reporting & Data Visualization
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that communicate key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Create clear, compelling visualizations that translate complex data into actionable insights
- Prepare regular reports on yacht sales, leads, market positioning, and marketing performance
- Generate ad-hoc analyses and custom reports in response to leadership inquiries
- Present findings and recommendations to brand leadership and commercial teams
Strategic Support & Recommendations
- Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable business recommendations
- Support brand leadership in strategic planning and decision-making with data-driven insights
- Identify opportunities for revenue growth, market expansion, and competitive advantage
- Provide analytical perspective on business challenges and strategic initiatives
- Contribute to quarterly and annual business planning processes with market intelligence
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner closely with brand commercial teams, sales, and marketing to understand analytical needs
- Collaborate with central Data Operations team to request data updates or clarifications as needed
- Work with central Data Engineering team when advanced reporting capabilities or data access is required
- Communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Build trusted advisor relationships with brand leadership through reliable, insightful analysis
Data Platform Utilization
- Leverage the central yacht database platform to extract and analyze relevant data
- Understand data structure and availability to conduct efficient analyses
- Identify data gaps or quality issues and communicate to Data Operations team
- Stay current with platform capabilities and new features for analysis
- Ensure proper interpretation and use of centralized data sources
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business, Economics, Statistics, Finance, or related field
- 2-4 years of proven experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or Business Intelligence Analyst
- Experience in luxury goods, marine industries, or high-value asset markets is a plus
- Track record of translating data into business insights and recommendations
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, data modeling)
- Experience with business intelligence and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex datasets and identify patterns
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation is a plus
- Understanding of statistical concepts and analytical methodologies
