We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Press Operator to join our manufacturing facility. The Progressive Die Press Operator is responsible for operating die press machines that are used to manufacture parts or products. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure high-quality production. This Die Press Operator will play a critical role in maintaining efficient operations on the assembly line and materials handling processes, contributing to the overall success of our manufacturing operations.
Duties
- Operate and monitor progressive die press machines to meet production specifications.
- Set up and adjust machinery using tooling specifications to ensure precise operation. May include adjustment of dies, molds and tools as needed to ensure proper operation.
- Inspect materials and finished products for defects or irregularities (e.g., improper dimensions, surface imperfections).
- Conduct quality control checks using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and other gauges to verify product dimensions.
- Handle materials safely using forklifts and other warehouse equipment; assist with materials handling and fabrication tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to safety standards; perform basic welding or fabrication tasks if required.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly line processes to optimize productivity and efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating industrial presses within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in machining, fabrication, tooling, welding, and assembly line operations.
- Knowledge of materials handling equipment such as forklifts; warehouse experience is a plus.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to manufacturing processes.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control; experience in manufacturing or factory settings preferred.
- Keep accurate records of production output, machine performance, and any maintenance or repairs conducted.
- Report any safety concerns or hazards to supervisors immediately.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures to operate press equipment safely.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection.
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA).
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
