Georgia Elementary and Middle School is seeking a dynamic classroom teacher to join our 6th grade team. This position focuses on science and social studies, as part of a three person team. This individual will have strong knowledge of science and social studies content, allowing them to guide students towards proficiency through high-quality instructional practices. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Common Core, Next Generation Science, and the C3 standards and be able to apply them in creative and effective ways to meet the diverse needs of students.
Candidates must have the ability to build positive and supportive relationships with students while establishing a classroom environment with clear routines and expectations. Responsibilities: *Ensure equitable and inclusive educational opportunities for all students.*Be willing to collaborate, learn, and grow within a team. *Build strong, collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, and parents. *Effectively communicate with a variety of constituents, including students, faculty, administrators, parents, and the broader school community.*Utilize PBIS and Responsive Classroom practices to foster a sense of belonging.*Demonstrate a strong understanding of proficiency-based learning and the ability to plan units of study that are rigorous and relevant for early adolescence.*Utilize the Schoology online platform to post and communicate about student assignments.
