Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Adhere to patient/client LNA care plan as set up the while maintaining a healthy and safe environment.
- Reports and documents patient/client’s needs and responses to the Nursing supervisor.
- Reports patient/client’s change in condition or situations immediately.
- Provide physical support to assist patients to perform daily living activities, such as getting out of bed, bathing, dressing, using the toilet, standing, walking, or exercising.
- Turn or reposition bedridden patients.
- Record vital statistics or other health information.
- Review patients' dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences to ensure patient receives appropriate diet.
- Measure and record food and liquid intake or urinary and fecal output, reporting changes to medical or nursing staff.
- Monitor patients to detect health problems and advise Nursing supervisor.
- Perform light housekeeping and Homemaker duties deemed acceptable by the agency in conjunction with or in the absence of the agency Homemaker.
- Perform other duties assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited Licensed Nursing Assist program.
- Current Certification/Licensure for State of New Hampshire is required.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in an LNA or related role required.
- Excellent patient care skills
- General knowledge of nursing and health care terminology.
- Ability to demonstrate a caring, compassionate and empathic manner with patients and family members.
- Maintain positive working relationships with employees and healthcare professionals.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to document patient care according to nursing standards and plan of care.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Must demonstrate ethical conduct and build trust with patients and family members.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines as instructed by the agency.
- Ability to wear protective clothing such as mask, glove, head cover, lead apron, safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.
- Ability to travel required. Travel throughout central New Hampshire is required.
- Current drivers’ license is required.
- Proof of automobile insurance is required.
- Ability to pass a motor vehicle background screening is required.
- Job requires physical activities including but not limited to; standing for extended periods of time, bending, lifting, reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, crouching, crawling, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking and hearing.
- Job requires moderate physical work including the ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, 20 lbs. regularly.
- Job requires close visual acuity including the ability to see at or within arm’s reach.
- Job is subject to inside environmental conditions; low noise level.
