Substitute Teacher  - Per Diem

Franklin School – Jersey City, NJ

Position Overview

Franklin School, an innovative coeducational high school in Jersey City, NJ, seeking Substitute Teachers for the 2026-2027 academic year. 

The ideal candidate requirements are as follows:

• At least one year (1) prior teaching experience preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree (required)
• Strong Interpersonal skills 
• Experience teaching to a range of learners
• Special Education experience highly sought after
• Eagerness to contribute positively to the Franklin community
• Willingness to engage with and learn from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences
• Ability to bring joy, kindness, maturity, and flexibility to the school environment
• Knowledge of Educational/classroom technology (Zoom, Google Classroom, Canvas etc) to assist students
• Availability to work Monday – Friday 7:30am – 3:00pm
• Demonstrates a willingness to be a team player, and to participate readily in any other duties, as assigned

Compensation:

• Commensurate with experience: $180/day; $90/half-day
