GREENFIELD Cashier Responsible for accurately ringing the sales of goods
stocked and produced by the market into our Point-of-Sale cash
registers. Provide excellent customer service to members and the general
public, including collection of payments, assistance in finding
products, and sharing knowledge of Co-op services and programs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: CASHIER: Check out customer purchases
efficiently and accurately following all established procedures. Be
accountable for all payments taken for goods and services. Be punctual
in arriving for shifts, returning from breaks, opening register lanes
and relieving cashiers. Follow routines for each shift, including
opening and closing duties. Bag groceries with care and good sense. Keep
busy during down-times from cashiering by taking on cleaning tasks,
stocking supplies, fronting shelves, etc, while maintaining awareness of
customer\'s needs. CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TEAM WORK: Greeting and thanking
each customer; offering assistance; accompanying customer to locate
product and answering inquiries. Knowledge of products sold in the store
\-- where located, unusual out-of-stocks, featured sales of the month,
new products, etc. Competence in helping dissatisfied and/or angry
customers; clear understanding of refund and replacement practices.
Attend department and all-staff meetings regularly. Agree to flexibility
in covering fellow cashier\'s shifts, schedule changes. Be vigilant and
proactive about store maintenance (e.g., attend to spills immediately).
Maintain honest, direct, and respectful communications with co-workers
and managers. Direct customer and / or staff concerns to appropriate
