Responsibilities:
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for assessment, interpretation, goal development and treatment through both hands-on care and an active approach to help patients return to the highest level of function. Our patient population consists of general orthopedics, geriatrics, adolescents, post-surgical orthopedics, operative and non-operative and sports medicine.
The licensed occupational therapist assesses, plans, coordinates and executes prescribed therapy programs to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury of a body part, assisting the patient to reach their maximal functional performance level.
- Develop and implement therapy programs that focus on rehabilitation
- Work directly with patients to achieve maximum physical recovery
- Evaluate effects of therapy treatment and communicate patients' progress
- Record and document patient care services
- Collaborate with other team personnel to achieve well-rounded care
Qualifications:
- Ability to handle physical workload
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Education: Graduate of an Accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Certification / License: MA OT License or Evidence of submission of a complete and accepted application for licensure by examination to the MA Board of Allied Health
- Experience: Previous applicable experience preferred, new graduates welcome to apply
