Description of Position
Franklin Hospital is seeking applicants for a full-time Certified Coder in Health Information Management. Positionassigns procedure and diagnosis codes to medical services performed by providers in the Hospital and the Clinics to achieve accurate and timely reimbursement from insurance carriers. Position also performs other duties related to the coding process and the HIM office operation.Regular hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional adjustments to work schedule as needed. Bargaining unit position. Pay range is $20.50 to $24.00 per hour, depending on qualifications. Possibility of higher pay with significant experience beyond the minimum qualifications.
Qualifications
Position requires high school diploma or equivalent, minimum of 2 years of medical coding experience, knowledge of CPT, PCS, and HCPCS codes, and strong attention to detail and accuracy. Coding certification required or must be obtained within 1 year of employment. Also requires strong teamwork, customer service, and communication skills, competency with Microsoft Office programs, and computer skills necessary to perform the position functions.
