Franklin Electric is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Corporate Accounting Intern to join our Corporate Accounting team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience supporting key accounting functions within a global organization. The intern will assist with transactional accounting activities, preparation of month-end close journal entries, supporting workpapers, account reconciliations, and both internal and external financial reporting. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to develop practical accounting skills, collaborate with experienced finance professionals, and gain exposure to the processes that support accurate and timely financial reporting in a dynamic corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter transactions into various accounting systems
- Preparation of: journal entries, supporting workpapers, and reconciliations
- Month end analysis and reporting
- Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned, focusing on Corporate Accounting process improvement initiatives
- Assist with SEC filings, as needed
- Collaborate with other accounting staff to support overall department goals and objectives
Skills and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail
- Intermediate knowledge of accounting and financial statements
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to complete some moderately repetitive tasks
- Task oriented self-starter
- Junior or Senior status currently pursuing a degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field (required).
- Active participation in extracurricular activities aligned with area of study (preferred).
- GPA of 3.2 or higher (Preferred).
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience using pivot tables (required).
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (required).
