What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scale Operator position at Franklin Disposal & Recycling?
We are currently seeking a motivated scale operator for our recycling facility. There are several aspects of this position that require multi tasking and attention to detail. Below are some of the tasks that are required in this position:
- Use computers to enter data in the scale program to maintain customers, products, and weights
- Sort metal
- Stack and wrap batteries using proper procedures and wrapping methods.
- Ensure the scale stays free from dirt and debris to ensure accurate measures
- Walk the driveway, sidewalk, entrance to the premises, and scale area and maintain clean area by cleaning any material on the ground.
- Accurately weigh and pay customers
- Provide customer service
- Maintain a clean workspace
- Assist other employees in completing tasks and projects
- Communicate with the manager(s) and employees via radio and other means of communication to complete tasks
- Ensure proper rates and fees are incurred for customers
- Generate inventory calculations
- Be able to lift 50 lbs regularly
- Operate a forklift
- Perform other duties as assigned
