About the position
Responsibilities
• Conduct intake assessments and initiate investigations regarding child welfare cases.
• Assess the safety of children in residential settings.
• Investigate allegations of abuse, neglect, and dependency.
• Interview children, families, witnesses, and other sources to assess risk.
• Counsel families and refer them to crisis services as needed.
• Document findings thoroughly and accurately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field; LSW considered equivalent.
• Experience in social work and case management.
• Proficient in casework and assessment techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience in child welfare or a related field is a plus.
• Knowledge of child protection laws and regulations.
