Special Education Teacher (Grades 9-12)

Position Summary:Franklin County Technical School is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Special Education Teacher to support students in grades 912 within a dynamic vocational-technical high school setting. The position provides specialized instruction and support through inclusive classroom practices, small-group instruction, academic assessment, and the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The successful candidate will work closely with general education teachers, vocational instructors, counselors, administrators, families, and related service providers to ensure students have the support they need to access rigorous academic and technical education and achieve their individual goals. Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized direct instruction through push-in/co-teaching, pull-out support, resource room instruction, or other appropriate service delivery models.
• Provide instruction and support aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and individual student IEP goals.
• Support students with disabilities in adapting to and succeeding within vocational-technical shop environments and academic classrooms.
• Adapt instructional materials, assignments, and assessment tools to meet individual learning needs and IEP requirements.
• Collect, analyze, and report data on student performance and progress toward IEP goals.
• Prepare and communicate required progress reports and collaborate with staff and families regarding student progress.
• Collaborate with educators, counselors, related service providers, administrators, families, and community partners to address student needs.
• Participate in student support and problem-solving processes as appropriate.
• Promote a supportive, inclusive learning environment that maximizes student access to academic and career/vocational-technical opportunities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services.
