What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Evening Cosmetology Instructor position at Franklin County Technical School?
As the Cosmetology Instructor, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality instruction to
adult learners, equipping them with the skills and knowledge essential for success in the
cosmetology industry.
Prepare for the delivery of appropriate instruction for the cosmetology strands in
accordance with department goals and objectives, following proven procedures.
• Organize and deliver instruction sequentially following the most current Curriculum
Frameworks provided by the district and utilize Competency-Based Education
methods and techniques as appropriate to individual student learning styles and
abilities.
• Provide quality instruction relative to all aspects of Health and Safety as they relate
to the Cosmetology Industry.
• Provide instruction in the following areas of this trade: skills and knowledge
associated with cosmetology, industry quality standards, problem solving, training,
safety, and proper use of industry equipment and tools.
• Provide the latest safety training to students.
• Display and promote safe working practices at all times.
• Use methods of instruction that are welcoming, motivating, and student-centered.
• Create an environment that is conducive to learning.
• Initiate and participate in departmental efforts to integrate instruction
• Attend curriculum development, departmental, staff, and other required meetings.
• Participate in activities that promote the best interests of our students and our
school.
• Comply with rigorous standards for professional improvement to keep current with
modern technology and pedagogy
• Maintain decorum and control of assigned students for the purposes of enhancing
learning and ensuring a safe and healthful environment in the classroom and
throughout the school.
• Abide by school procedures, rules, and directives.
• Become familiar with the school’s systems and operating procedures.
• Must adhere to strict confidentiality practices and policies at all times when
accessing and discussing sensitive student information.
• Utilize school support services as needed.
• Inspire excellence, achieve consensus, and respond effectively to the system’s
mission with humor and enthusiasm.
